Responsibilities:

Draft immigration applications for attorney review.

Assist in the preparation of cases for submission to government agencies.

Assist with the law firm’s case acceptance process by meeting with clients to collect information and documents required for case submission.

Monitor deadlines and contact clients to follow up on case matters.

Process incoming case-related correspondence and phone calls.
-
Make appropriate entries in the case management system.
-
Provide translation and interpretation for non-English speaking clients.

Provide other related duties as assigned, such as copying, faxing scanning, etc.
Qualifications:

Education Level: 1L or 2L Student
-
Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and within a team.
-
Must be well-organized; able to complete work in a timely manner and highly reliable.

Able to maintain confidentiality.
-
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and virtual platforms.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including legal and analytical writing.

The Summer 2023 Legal Internship runs from June to August 2023.
The Fall 2023 Legal Externship will follow American University Washington College of Law’s Fall 2023 class schedule.
You will be compensated with a stipend to help cover transportation, food, and miscellaneous expenses.
