Are you interested and looking for information on the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act? We have the information for you…please continue to read….
Compliments of the Season on behalf of the staff and attorneys of Law Office of Edward W. Neufville, III, LLC (“LOEN”). We wish you and yours a successful and prosperous New Year.
It is with great excitement that I share with you the information about the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (“LRIF”) Act recently signed into law by the President of the United States, Mr. Donald J. Trump.
The LRIF presents a unique and time sensitive opportunity for Liberian citizens who arrived in the United States on or before November 20, 2014, to regularize their immigration status. This is an incredible opportunity and one that we wish you to exercise as soon as possible. The implications and opportunities are far reaching and will greatly benefit your family, here and abroad and your future here in the United States.
Of significant importance and worth noting is that once you are granted permanent residence in the United States, your date of residence will be dated as of your arrival into the United States, which will allow us to subsequently apply for your naturalization, aka citizenship, immediately after the approval of your green card. These are unprecedented benefits. We are able to have a draft of your naturalization application ready at the same time as we submit the green card application and then submit immediately upon approval of the green card. These benefits and their nuances are again unprecedented and far reaching.
The official deadline to apply with USCIS is December 20, 2020. Here at the LOEN, we have spent the past weekend carefully reviewing and assessing LRIF and its policies. Please note we will take our last application on June 26, 2020, in order to allow us enough time to file the application with USCIS and respond to any request for additional evidence that may be required. Please take note of these deadlines.
