BEAUTY, A BEAT AND A DAMN GOOD IMMIGRATION LAWYER

Apparently Justin Bieber has not stopped partying like it is 3012 and in addition to needing just a beauty and a beat to make his life complete, he might just need one damn good immigration lawyer. Less than an two hours ago, celebrity pop star Justin Bieber was arraigned in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of drunk driving, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid driver’s license.  Bieber was allegedly street racing in a residential neighborhood.  The police report indicates that he and another celebrity artist, Khalil Sharieff, were racing their Ferrari’s at 55-60 mph within a 30 mph residential zone.  Reports also indicate that the teenage pop star “made some statements” that he had been drinking, smoking marijuana and taking prescription medications.

Now, under U.S. Immigration law, Justin Bieber cannot be removed (deported) from the United States unless he is convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, a controlled substance violation, an aggravated felony or multiple criminal convictions (just to name a few grounds of removal).  The fact that he has been charged is not enough to get him deported.  In fact, the charges in the State of Florida relating to resisting arrest without violence, driving under the influence, and driving with an expired driver’s, do not lead to the deportation or removal of a foreign national from the United States.

However, Bieber is not out of the woods yet.  Under U.S. immigration laws, foreign nationals who admit to violating any law or regulation of a State, the United States, or foreign country relating to a controlled substance (marijuana or certain prescription medications) will not be allowed to enter the United States.  If it is true that Justin Bieber admitted that he smoked marijuana, and had taken prescription medication (without a doctor’s consent), then he might need more than just a beauty and a beat when he departs the United States and makes an attempt to re-enter.  A damn good immigration lawyer might just be the person to make Bieber’s life complete.
